Mumbai, Apr 29 (UNI) The Rupee on Tuesday slipped 16 paise at 85.16 against USD in early trade on rising demand for US Dollar by bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market informed.
The local unit was seen strong in the previous session, registering huge gains of 41 paise, opened negative today at 85.16, tumbled down 16 paise.
High volatility was seen today. The Rupee dropped owing to strong Dollar against other world currencies in spite of strong equity market in early trade.
The Rupee recorded intra days high and low at 85.15 and 85.29 respectively, dealer added.
