Arunachal Guv calls for united effort against plastic pollution

Itanagar, June 5 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik led the World Environment Day celebrations at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar, on Wednesday, calling for urgent and united action to protect the environment and combat plastic pollution.
Marking the occasion, the Governor planted Maha Neem saplings in the northern lawn of the Raj Bhavan and appealed to citizens to adopt simple, eco-friendly practices in daily life. He urged people to replace plastic with cloth and biodegradable alternatives, segregate household waste, recycle responsibly, organize community clean-up drives, and educate the younger generation about environmental stewardship.
Referring to the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change’s national campaign, ‘One Nation, One Mission: End Plastic Pollution’, the Governor encouraged citizens to say a firm “No” to single-use plastics. He urged everyone to unite in building a cleaner, greener, and plastic-free Arunachal Pradesh.
