Nityanand Rai announces grand memorial for Kailashpati Mishra at birthplace

Buxar/Patna, Nov 3 (UNI) union Minister of State for Home and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nityanand Rai on Tuesday announced that he would personally oversee the construction of a grand memorial and statue of veteran BJP leader Kailashpati Mishra at his birthplace in Buxar district.
Speaking at a tribute and memorial function organised at Dhakaich village on the 14th death anniversary of Mishra, Rai said a road would also be constructed in the village. He added that a library would be built soon with the initiative of Bihar Education Minister to preserve Mishra's legacy and inspire future generations through his life, struggles and contribution to the nation.
Rai also announced plans to introduce a sports initiative in Mishra's name under the Prime Minister's Khelo India programme to provide opportunities to local talent.
Paying tribute to Mishra, a founding member of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, former Gujarat Governor and one of the senior-most leaders of the BJP in Bihar, Rai described him as an embodiment of ideology, values and lifelong dedication to the organisation. "Mishra devoted his entire life to the service of the nation and the organisation. His simplicity, sacrifice and commitment, away from personal comforts, will always remain a source of inspiration," Rai said.
He added that Mishra had played a significant role in shaping his political journey and that of thousands of party workers by encouraging them to dedicate their lives to public service.
Meanwhile, Bihar BJP president Sanjay Saraogi visited Mishra's ancestral village of Dudhar Chak in Buxar district to pay tribute to the veteran leader on his death anniversary. Saraogi visited Mishra's ancestral residence and paid his respects at the courtyard where the late leader had spent his childhood. Recalling Mishra''s life and contribution, he said his dedication to the nation, the organisation and society continued to inspire BJP workers.
Saraogi said Mishra's contribution to strengthening the BJP in Bihar was unparalleled and that his ideals would continue to guide future generations.
During his visit, the state BJP president also interacted with villagers and listened to their concerns. He assured them that the government was committed to the development of Dudhar Chak and would work to address the village's needs and aspirations.
He said the development of Mishra's birthplace and the welfare of its residents remained a priority, adding that following the veteran leader's ideals was the most meaningful tribute to his legacy.
As it is, Mishra, who was among the founding members of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and served as Governor of Gujarat, is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in the history of the BJP in Bihar.
