Vigilance sleuths arrest BDO and RO in separate bribery cases

Patna, June 9 (UNI) Vigilance sleuths arrested Block Development Officer of Lalganj block Neelam Kumari and her driver when they were receiving a bribe of Rs 20000 in Vaishali district.
Bureau sources had here on Monday that one Mithilesh Kumar of Kartaha Jagdishpur village under Kartaha police station area had complained that the BDO was demanding a bribe for releasing the second and third installment of Pradhanmantri Aawas Yojana.
Based on the complaint, the Bureau laid the trap and arrested the BDO and her driver, Avinash Kumar, when they were receiving the bride of Rs 20000 from the BDO office of Lalganj.
Both would be produced before the court after preliminary interrogation.
The sources further said that the Revenue Officer (RO) Ajit Kumar Singh of Lakdi Naviganj circle office in Siwan district was arrested when he was taking a bribe of Rs 35000 in lieu of solving a land dispute.
The Revenue Officer will be produced before the court after preliminary interrogation.

River levels recede, yet normal life remains affected in Manipur
