BDO and RO arrested in separate bribery cases

Patna, June 9 (UNI) Anti-graft sleuths arrested Block Development Officer of Lalganj block Neelam Kumari and her driver when they were receiving a bribe of Rs 20000 in Vaishali district, Bihar Vigilance Bureau sources said on Monday.
Bureau sources said one Mithilesh Kumar of Kartaha Jagdishpur village under Kartaha police station area had complained that the BDO was demanding bribe for releasing the second and third installment of the Pradhanmantri Aawas Yojana. Based on the complaint, the Bureau laid the trap and arrested the BDO and her driver Avinash Kumar from the BDO office of Lalganj when they were receiving the bribe of Rs 20000 .
Both would be produced before the court after preliminary interrogation.
The sources further said that the revenue officer Ajit Kumar Singh of Lakdi Naviganj circle office in Siwan district was arrested when he was taking the bribe of Rs 35000 in lieu of solving a land dispute.
The revenue officer will be produced before the court after preliminary interrogation.
