Inter-state criminal arrested, arms and ammunition recovered

Bhubaneswar, June 29 (UNI) The Special Task Force (STF) of the Odisha Police on Sunday arrested an interstate criminal involved in the illegal firearms trade and recovered arms, ammunition, and cash from his possession.
According to STF sources, based on intelligence input, a team of STF officers intercepted one Dillip Sah from Samastipur district in Bihar near the PWD Inspection Bungalow at Saradeipur, under the jurisdiction of Balianta Police Station in Bhubaneswar Urban Police District.
During the search operation, STF officials recovered three country-made 7 mm automatic pistols with magazines, one 9 mm pistol with magazine, seven live rounds of country-made ammunition, a mobile phone, and some cash from Sah’s possession.
A case has been registered against the accused under Section 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) read with Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.
The accused was arrested and produced before the SDJM Court in Bhubaneswar.
