Manipur: National motorcycle rally flagged off from Imphal

Imphal, Oct 6 (UNI) Mukesh Singh, Director General of Police, Manipur, today flagged off a team of Manipur Police motorcycle riders to participate in the National Motorcycle Rally,organized in observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2026.
The rally, under the theme “Fight Against Drugs”, is to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Addressing the gathering during the flag-off ceremony held at the Police headquarters here, DGP Singh highlighted the importance of celebrating Rastriya Ekta Diwas and informed the participants about the place Ekta Nagar in Narmada District, Gujarat, where rallies, motorcycle rallies from all the states of the country will gather and celebrate Ekta Diwas.
Singh further said that the rally will spread Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s message of national unity, integrity and collective strength. The rally will also carry the message to motivate all the people across the country of a drug-free nation. He said that joining the rally from Manipur affected by menaces of drugs assumes a great importance and the support from the people to Manipur police is quite necessary in the fight against drugs.
He added that Manipur police joined hands with the security forces across the country in spreading awareness and reinforcing the message of a drug-free nation.
Congratulating the team of riders, he said, "Our team of bike riders, taking part in the rally, symbolizes our commitment to national integration, discipline, teamwork and public service undertaking a long and arduous journey across different states, right from the eastern end to the western end of the country."
The flagged off function was attended by top police officials and personnel of state and central forces.
