Man gets capital punishment for killing six of a family

Visakhapatnam, June 27 (UNI) A man was awarded death sentence by a court here on Friday for killing six persons of a family, including a six-month infant.

Police said that the court awarded death sentence to Appala Raju for killing six persons. According to the police, on April 15, 2021, Appala Raju barged into a house at Juttada village of Pendurti mandal and hacked to death B Ramana (63), Usharani (35), Alluri Ramadevi (53), Nakkella Aruna (37), Bommidi Uday (2) and Urvisha (six months).

Later the accused Appala Raju went to the police station and surrendered to the police. He confessed to the massacre. The court awarded him the capital punishment and also imposed a Rs 10,000 fine. A dispute between two families was the reason for the massacre, police said.
