Bengal: Mamata congratulates Justice Joymalya Bagchi on his elevation to SC

Kolkata, Mar 10 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday congratulated Justice Joymalya Bagchi on his elevation to the Supreme Court.
According to a report, the Union government has approved Justice Bagchi's appointment as a judge of the Supreme Court, where he is set to have a long tenure of well over six years and will be in line to be the Chief Justice of India in May, 2031.
"Congratulations to Shri Justice Joymalya Bagchi, Hon'ble Judge of the Calcutta High Court, for being appointed today by the Hon'ble President of India as an Hon'ble Judge of the Supreme Court of India. The appointment makes us proud," Banerjee said on her social post X handle.
