Pradhan calls Odisha Govt's 11.25 percent reservation for SEBC Students a historic decision

Bhubaneswar, May 14 (UNI) Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has hailed the Odisha State Cabinet’s decision to reserve 11.25 percent of seats in higher and higher secondary education for students belonging to the Socio-Economically Backward Classes (SEBC) as a historic and empowering step.
The Odisha cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday approved 11.25 percent reservation for SEBC students in higher and higher secondary education.
In a press release,on Wednesday, Pradhan stated that the decision would benefit the SEBC community, which makes up 52 percent of Odisha’s population.
