Samrat greets Amit Shah on Birthday

Patna, Oct 22 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary Thursday extended birthday greetings to union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, wishing him good health, longevity and a happy life.
In a message posted on social media platform X, Choudhary described Shah as a leader committed to national service, endowed with strong determination and capable leadership.
The Chief Minister said Shah's dedication to the country's progress, public service and public welfare would continue to provide new direction and energy to the nation.
Choudhary expressed confidence that Shah's contribution to national interest and public welfare would continue to support India's progress. He also prayed for the union Minister's good health and long life.
Born on October 22, 1964, in Mumbai, Shah began his political journey through the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and later became associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). He subsequently held various organisational responsibilities in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Shah was first elected to the Gujarat Legislative Assembly in 1997 and served as an MLA until 2017, holding various responsibilities in the state government, including that of the Minister of State for Home Affairs.
He became BJP national president in 2014, during which the party registered electoral successes in several states. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Gujarat in 2017 and entered the Lok Sabha in 2019 after winning from the Gandhinagar constituency.
Shah assumed charge as union Home Minister on May 30, 2019. He played a prominent role in key national decisions, including the changes to the constitutional provisions concerning Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
In July 2021, he was also entrusted with the newly created Ministry of Cooperation. Following his re-election from Gandhinagar in 2024, Shah continued as union Home and Cooperation Minister in the Narendra Modi-led government.
He currently handles key responsibilities related to internal security, law and order, and the cooperative sector at the national level.
