Congress demands employment for labourers to check migration from Bihar

Patna March 25 (UNI) Congress on Tuesday demanded that the Nitish Kumar government employ a large number of labourers and youths, including those associated with Mithila painting, so that they could not feel the need to migrate to other states for earning their livelihood.
Congress leader and former General Secretary of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union Kanhaiya Kumar told media persons in Madhubani during his "Palayan Roko Rojgar Do Yatra " that the Nitish Kumar government had miserably failed in employing a large number of labourers of Bihar. The failure of the Nitish Kumar government in employing them led to their migration to other states of the country for earning a livelihood, he added.
"A large number of labourers, both skilled and unskilled, are unemployed and have no option but to migrate to other states of the country for earning a livelihood", Congress leader said, adding that the Mithila region is known for its quality Mithila painting popular not only in India but also across the world. It was very disturbing to note that a large number of Mithila painters were finding it difficult to make both ends of the day as the government was not paying due attention to them to ensure their livelihood, he added,
