Jharkhand: Govt to move SC against MMDR amendment

Ranchi, Sep 14 (UNI) The Jharkhand government will move the Supreme Court against the MMDR Amendment Act, 2026, and continue its efforts to recover the state’s claimed mineral cess dues, Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore said on Monday.
Kishore said Chief Minister Hemant Soren had approved the decision and preparations were underway to challenge the amended law in the apex court.
He said the government would pursue the issue on two fronts, taking the matter to the people and legally challenging the amendment in the Supreme Court.
