Assam: Rain situation worsens, govt shuts down schools and colleges Saturday

Guwahati, May 30 (UNI) With Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh experiencing heavy rainfall for the last 48 hours, the Assam Government on Friday announced a special casual leave for its employees and decided to shut all schools and colleges on Saturday in Kamrup and Kamrup Metro districts.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said all state Govt employees will get an SCL, while schools & colleges would remain shut.
He said the private establishments have also been advised to take measures accordingly.
