Security Forces nab insurgents, neutralise bomb in coordinated operations across Manipur

Imphal, June 30 (UNI) In a series of successful operations across Manipur, security forces arrested two active insurgents and safely defused an improvised explosive device (IED) during the last 24 hours, significantly boosting the state’s ongoing counter-insurgency efforts.

In the first operation, an active cadre of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP-NOYON/MFL), was apprehended from Nongpok Sanjenbam Khullen under Lamlai Police Station, Imphal East district, police said today.

In a separate incident, a 51mm ILLG bomb was discovered planted at Terakhongshangbi Maning Laithel under Moirang Police Station, Bishnupur District. The bomb disposal unit swiftly responded and safely neutralised the explosive, preventing any harm to civilians. Splinters recovered from the site have been seized for forensic examination and further investigation.

Later another key insurgent affiliated with the Revolutionary People's Front/People’s Liberation Army (RPF/PLA) was arrested from Lamdeng Awang Leikai under Lamsang Police Station, Imphal West district.
