Cooch Behar to be developed as a major religious tourism destination: WB CM Suvendu Adhikari

Siliguri, Sep 22 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday said Cooch Behar should be developed as a major religious tourism destination and eventually become a tourist destination comparable to Tiger Hill, while the entire North Bengal region should be promoted for its forests, hills and wildlife.
Adhikari, who was visiting Cooch Behar for the first time after becoming Chief Minister, began his three-district North Bengal tour by offering prayers at the Madan Mohan Temple.
Speaking to reporters after offering prayers, the Chief Minister said Cooch Behar needed to attract two categories of tourists — those interested in nature and those travelling for religious reasons.
