Rajinikanth, Prabhas & Anupam Kher likely to attend KIFF opening: Mithun Chakraborty

Kolkata, Oct 27 (UNI) The 32nd Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), scheduled to be held from December 16 to 23, is expected to see the participation of several prominent Indian film stars, including Rajinikanth, Prabhas and Anupam Kher, as announced by veteran actor and festival chief adviser Mithun Chakraborty on Tuesday.
Paresh Rawal and Kangana Ranaut may also be present, while the organisers are in talks with foreign actors to bring them to the event.
Preparations for the festival were discussed at a meeting of its executive council at the government-sponsored film and cultural centre Nandan, located in the heart of Kolkata.
Expressing his vision to the reporter after the meeting for the festival, Chakraborty said he wanted Kolkata to take on a festive look during the event.
He also spoke about his plans to develop a film bazaar in the Bengali Film Industry, which could provide a platform for upcoming talents to explore new opportunities.
Victoria Memorial is reportedly being considered as the venue for the inauguration rather than the usual Nandan, though the organisers are yet to confirm the location.
