Los Angeles, May 18 (UNI) Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey touched down in France for the Cannes Film Festival, where he’s due to pick an award by The Better World Fund for excellence in film and television, as he continues to make his comeback to the industry following the infamous 2017 trial and his acquittal in 2023.
The Better World Fund will present the Oscar winner with an award for excellence in film and television at the fund’s milestone 10th anniversary gala dinner on Tuesday at the Carlton Hotel.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, as per a release sent out by the fund, Spacey, who is reportedly already in town, “will be recognised not only for his decades of artistic brilliance but also for his enduring impact on cinema and the arts.”
The award is the latest in a catalogue of collections by the ‘Horrible Bosses’ actor, who following his acquittal was honoured with a UK Fest Award last year for his voice role in the British action-thriller film ‘Control’, as well as the Italy’s Nation Award for Lifetime Achievement at a special gala in the historic southern Sicilian town of Taormina.
“We are truly privileged to welcome Kevin Spacey as our guest of honour and honouree at the Better World Fund Gala,” said Better World Fund founder and president Manuel Collas De La Roche.
“Kevin’s extraordinary contributions to the art of cinema have left a mark on audiences and filmmakers alike. His talent, depth and commitment to storytelling exemplify the transformative power of film. It is with great excitement that we celebrate his legacy and presence at this meaningful gathering.”
