Delhi Govt. to honour Anganwadi workers for taking services to children & women: CM

New Delhi, Sept 21 (UNI) The Rekha Gupta government is considering an increase in the honorarium of Anganwadi workers, in a bid to give due recognition to their contribution and responsibilities.
According to Gupta, programmes to honour Anganwadi workers will be organised across all 70 Assembly constituencies of the national capital, starting September 23.
Under the ongoing ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan,’ launched on the birth anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Delhi Government is set to organise ‘Aangan Ka Milan’, to honour the contribution of its Anganwadi workers who ensure several services, especially to the marginalised with regard to child welfare and development.

New Delhi, Sep 28 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a plea seeking directions to the West Bengal Assembly Speaker to decide petitions for disqualification of 10 rebel Trinamool Congress MLAs, observing that there was no reason to doubt that the Speaker would take a decision within a reasonable period and that courts themselves should be mindful of delays in deciding cases before prescribing rigid timelines for other constitutional authorities.
