Delhi Police recommend appointment of 225 candidates on compassionate grounds

New Delhi, Nov 3 (UNI) Delhi Police have recommended the appointment of 225 candidates on compassionate grounds, seeking to provide financial security and a dignified future to the families of police personnel who died in harness or lost their lives in the line of duty.
The recommendations were made by the Screening Committee after examining individual cases and are subject to the candidates qualifying for the prescribed medical examination. The appointments have been recommended against five per cent of the regular and direct recruitment quota of vacancies.
According to Delhi Police, the candidates will be considered for various posts, including Head Constable (Ministerial), Constable (Executive), Constable (Driver) and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS), depending on their eligibility.
The initiative is part of the department's ongoing welfare measures aimed at supporting the families of police personnel who die during service, recognising the sacrifices made by those entrusted with maintaining law and order in the national capital.
Delhi Police said the welfare of its personnel and their families remained a priority, with the department continuing to undertake initiatives to ensure their well-being.
Under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Anurag Kumar, the Welfare Unit has been pursuing measures to assist police personnel and their dependants, particularly families facing hardship following the death of an earning member during service.
The department said the compassionate appointment initiative reflected its commitment to standing by the families of deceased personnel and helping them secure a stable and dignified future.
