Second edition of Indraprastha Nritya Mahotsav begins tomorrow; Delhi CM to inaugurate

New Delhi, Oct 1 (UNI) Set against the majestic backdrop of Delhi’s Purana Qila, the second edition of the Indraprastha Dance Festival, which celebrates the timeless beauty of Indian classical dance, begins on Friday. The event, presented by Delhi Tourism, Government of Delhi, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
The show, which aims to celebrate and raise awareness of India’s rich artistic heritage, will see some of India’s finest dancers – from renowned Gurus to emerging talents, showcase their talent in the form of solos, duets and group performances.
The dance performances feature Padma awardees, Sangeet Natak Akademi awardees, Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar awardees, and top-graded Doordarshan artists.

IMD warns of thunderstorms in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi on Oct 10-11

New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph, reaching up to 50 kmph in gusts, at isolated places across Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on October 10 and 11. The weather agency has also issued a heavy rainfall warning for Uttarakhand on October 9.
