Indian Navy ships Sahyadri, Kulish conclude participation in ADMM-Plus maritime exercise

New Delhi, Sep 27 (UNI) Indian Navy's frontline stealth frigate INS Sahyadri and missile corvette INS Kulish have concluded their participation in the 23rd ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus) Experts' Working Group on Maritime Security Joint Cooperation Activity at Subic Bay in the Philippines, reaffirming India's commitment to regional maritime cooperation.
The closing ceremony of the multilateral activity was held on September 25, following its commencement on September 21 at Naval Operating Base Subic. The exercise was hosted by the Philippine Navy and co-chaired by Japan.
The harbour phase featured subject matter expert exchanges on peace and security, ASEAN Navy Chiefs' Meeting and Guidelines for Maritime Interaction, senior enlisted leadership and marine environmental protection. The programme also included sporting events, an International Day and a cultural show.
On September 22, Indian naval personnel participated in operational synchronisation and a tabletop exercise, followed by a pre-sail conference to coordinate activities for the sea phase. A community engagement programme was also conducted at the Shepherds of the Hill Center in Zambales.
The sea phase comprised coordinated operational serials, including search and rescue, hydrographic survey, casualty and medical evacuation, deck landing qualification and assistance to vessels aground.
The activities provided an opportunity for participating navies to enhance operational coordination, strengthen interoperability and exchange professional expertise in addressing maritime security challenges.
The successful conduct of the joint cooperation activity highlighted the importance of practical multilateral engagement and professional interaction in strengthening maritime partnerships.
India's participation in the exercise reaffirmed its commitment to regional cooperation in line with its Act East Policy and the vision of MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions).UNI PWS AAB
