Surendra Solanki warns politicians against politicising sensitive issue, says 36 communities stand together

New Delhi, Sep 27 (UNI) Sarvajatiya Sarvakhap Palam 360 Pradhan Chaudhary Surendra Solanki on Sunday warned political parties against politicising the row over alleged objectionable remarks against the Hindu religion and women, asserting that the 36 communities would stand together to protect social harmony and the dignity of women.
The warning came at a Mahapanchayat of 36 communities at Kanjhawla village in outer Delhi, where thousands of people from Delhi, Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh gathered and unanimously condemned the alleged remarks.
The Balmiki community backed the resolutions adopted by the Mahapanchayat and said the alleged objectionable remarks by Sunil Kumar of Tatesar village against the Hindu religion and women should not be viewed as a dispute involving any one community, but as an issue concerning the sentiments of all 36 communities.
Thousands of people from 36 communities across Delhi, Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh attended the Mahapanchayat organised by Sarvajatiya Sarvakhap Palam 360 at Kanjhawla village in outer Delhi. The meeting was chaired by its Pradhan, Chaudhary Surendra Solanki.
Addressing the gathering, Solanki said, “If any politician affects the brotherhood by twisting or turning such matters, the entire 36 communities will stand together and give a befitting reply to such a person.”
He said the dignity and respect of “all mothers, sisters and daughters” of every community must be protected and stressed that sensitive disputes should be resolved without disturbing social harmony.
The Mahapanchayat constituted an 11-member committee to meet representatives of both sides and work towards an amicable settlement. The committee will approach the parties concerned and, in accordance with the Panchayat’s decision, advise them to withdraw the FIRs and resolve the matter peacefully with the aim of restoring brotherhood.
Former MLA Chandram proposed that if the families concerned did not accept the Panchayat’s decision, the 36 communities would approach the police seeking withdrawal of provisions invoked under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
The Panchayat also decided that if either side rejected its decision, a delegation would meet the Deputy Commissioner of Police concerned and, if required, stage a protest while maintaining the dignity and brotherhood of the communities.
Solanki said the Panchayat would not support anyone opposing decisions aimed at ensuring justice, protecting women’s dignity and maintaining harmony among the 36 communities.
The Mahapanchayat also stressed that the alleged conduct or remarks of an individual should not be used to blame an entire community.
“The person who does anything objectionable does not represent a community in his or her actions and remarks,” Solanki said.
Representatives of the Balmiki community, including Naresh Balmiki, former MLA Chandram and Vijay, said they were “unhappy and angry” over the alleged remarks, which they described as an insult to the Hindu religion and the sentiments of the communities.
Naresh Balmiki said no individual should make remarks that hurt the sentiments of any community or religion.
Solanki said the Panchayat’s objective was to strengthen brotherhood among the 36 communities and work towards building a better and inclusive society.
DCP Shashank Jaiswal was also present at the Mahapanchayat and appreciated the efforts being made to promote brotherhood and maintain harmony among the communities, Solanki said.
Representing the Gurjar community, Jagbir Namabardar said respect for women was a priority for every community and there could be no compromise on the issue.
Several community leaders and village representatives attended the Mahapanchayat, including Naresh Balmiki of Lado Sarai 96, Rao Tribhuvan Singh representing the Yadav community, Deepak Vashishth representing Brahmins, Ramesh Kumar from the Julaha community, Santram from the Prajapati community, Karan Singh Dabas of Kanjhawla and Samundar Singh, Pradhan of Karala, besides representatives from several villages across Delhi.
