9th India International Water Week brings global focus on climate - resilient water management

New Delhi, Sep 22 (UNI) The 9th edition of the India International Water Week (IIWW) 2026 began at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Tuesday, bringing together representatives from more than 35 countries, government officials,water experts and international organisations to discuss climate-resilient water management.
Organised by Ministry of Jal Shakti from September 22 to 26, the five day event is being held under the theme " Climate Resilient Water Management". It was inaugurated by Vice President CP Radhakrishnan.
Addressing the gathering, the Vice President highlighted the growing pressure on water resources due to population, urbanisation and climate change . He also referred to inter-state cooperation on water sharing and the need for greater public participation in water conservation.
