Rahul Gandhi ‘created hallucination’ of being in Parliament of his choice, says BJP

New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) The BJP on Saturday slammed the Congress over its ‘mock Parliament,’ with party spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi accusing the opposition party of “attempting to create chaos in the country” and Rahul Gandhi of “creating a hallucination” of being in Parliament of his choice, “After repeatedly failing to create anarchy in India, the Congress, merely to provide solace to the sentiments of its maverick prince Rahul Gandhi is now creating a hallucination that he is in the Parliament of his own choice by holding a mock Parliament,” Trivedi told media persons.
Trivedi also accused the Opposition of “acting out of frustration” after “repeatedly being rejected by the people” while the BJP is working to remove poverty and cited the latest World Bank report noting a sharp decline in extreme poverty rate in India in this regard
The report is the reflection of sustained policy efforts taken by the Narendra Modi government, he said, quoting the World Bank's 2025 report to highlight India's progress in poverty reduction under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Slamming Rahul Gandhi’s description of the Indian economy as “dead”, he said those making such claims were the same people who invited Elon Musk to India after the world's richest man reportedly said he was not being allowed to enter the country.
“They should have said, ‘Dear friend Elon, India is a dead economy. Why are you coming here?’ This shows that India's economy is not dead, their conscience is dead and their ability to think and understand is dead. Their mindset and thinking are dead, “he said.
Quoting the report, Trivedia said India had lifted 27.6 % of its population out of extreme poverty between 2012 and 2023, bringing the proportion of people living in extreme poverty down to 2.6 %.
“They also said that, as per today's benchmark, the population which was earning less than 4.2 dollars was 57.7% in 2011, now they are just 16%. In Indian rupees, there is only 16% of the population which is earning less than 400 rupees a day. So 84% of Indians are earning more than 400 rupees per day. This shows how India is marching ahead under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he added.UNI VS AAB
