India bloc rally: elaborate security arrangements successful, says police

New Delhi, Nov 1 (UNI) Amid the elaborate security arrangements put in place by the Delhi Police, the INDIA bloc rally held at the Ramlila Maidan went off peacefully, with senior cops on the ground continuously monitoring the situation.
According to a senior police official, the arrangements in place were effective.
Additional personnel from the Central Armed Police Force were also deployed for security arrangements, that were multiple layered, to ensure peace and safety.
Continuous surveillance using drones, over 200 hi- tech CCTV cameras, was maintained by the police to ensure that no untoward incident is triggered by bad elements, who usually try to disturb peace at such large gatherings.
The police had also kept a strict eye on to the digital space as well to monitor any social media handles that allegedly try to circulate any misleading claims, or content, without verifying date, location or context of the visuals, intended to create a false impression of mass movement towards the national capital.
In wake of the rally, elaborate and hi- tech security arrangements had been put in at Central Delhi’s iconic Ramlila Maidan and surrounding areas.
The people had started coming in to the Ramlila Maidan since early morning hours, while police personnel along with the attachment of CAPF stood guard to make sure thing go on in a peaceful manner.
Body mounted cameras, drones etc were also used by the Delhi Police, monitored through special control rooms to have a complete on ground watch.
Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMDs) and stationed police personnel were in place to screen those entering the venue, while the senior officers, were in constant touch with the rally organisers to ensure things were in place.
The organisers were made aware of all the security considerations regarding the rally.
Meanwhile, people in large numbers could also be seen along the roads adjoining the venue, and also in the CP areas between Minto Road and Barakhamba Road on the Outer Circle. UNI APS CDS
