Hooliganism, obstruction of public work will not be tolerated: Parvesh Sahib Singh to AAP chief

New Delhi, 28 Sep (UNI) Delhi Public Works Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh on Monday responded to AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal’s remarks on Sunday’s confrontation incident at Vikaspuri, saying that obstruction of public works will not at all be tolerated and claimed that the concerned AAP worker was already involved in a case regarding violence against a sanitation worker.
Singh said that the local MLA came to the spot after making the minister wait for a while, following multiple calls, and had brought his supporters with him. While the AAP worker was assured of answers to questions on the quality of work being done, the AAP MLA and his supporters tried to create a nuisance, he claimed, and said it would have been the first time that a minister himself visited the place referred to by the opposition MLA and inspected the ongoing work.
“Kejriwal ji, your drama in the name of Gen-Z will no longer be successful, and the man your MLA got with him yesterday was not a Gen- Z, but a person against whom an FIR had been registered a couple of months ago for the assault of a contractual MCD worker, and the MLA’s relative’s name is also mentioned in the FIR," Singh added. He further warned that disruption and causing hindrances to government work will not be tolerated, and such theatrics and goondas will not be tolerated.
The Minister asked Kejriwal why he was silent over young girls being allegedly beaten up in Punjab, why the AAP chief did not visit places in Punjab, and say a word or two about them as well. He also accused the AAP MLA and his local supporters of allegedly demanding money from the civic agency engineer for the work being carried out.
Meanwhile, a video had gone viral on social media on Sunday where the minister allegedly slapped a person who could be seen advancing towards him, while he tried to sign him to stay calm and at a distance.
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP chief Harsh Malhotra, responding to the alleged slapping, said that the speech and political drama staged by Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal during his visit to Vikaspuri on Monday reflect duplicity in his conduct and politics. Malhotra said that there is no doubt that the unfortunate incident that took place yesterday during the final moments of Singh’s visit to Vikaspuri should not have happened.
However, the political drama staged by Kejriwal by visiting Vikaspuri today has left the people of Delhi stunned; he said, adding that the manner in which the AAP MLA Jarnail Singh brought a crowd and created a ruckus during the inspection led to the unfortunate incident.
