Five, including bride, killed in truck-jeep collision in Jaipur

Jaipur, June 11 (UNI) Five people, including a bride, died in an accident in Jaipur Rural in the early hours of Wednesday, police said. At least six people were injured in the accident.
Police said the victims were traveling in a jeep from Shahdol district in Madhya Pradesh to Udaipurwati in Jhunjhunu district when their vehicle collided head-on with a truck on National Highway 148 near Bhatkabas village under Raisar police station area. The impact was severe, causing extensive damage to the jeep and trapping people inside.
The police with the help of locals rescued the occupants and rushed them to the hospital, but four people died on the spot, while one succumbed to injuries later.

The groom, Vikram Meena, and several others were among the injured and were admitted to NIMS Hospital.
The accident occurred when the jeep, carrying the groom and his party, along with the bride, was returning from Mandoli in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh.

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed condolence over the incident and directed district administration officials to ensure prompt medical treatment for the injured.
