102 sugar mills made 100pc payment to sugarcane farmers in UP

Lucknow, Sep 16 (UNI) Thanks to the constant monitoring of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, 102 sugar mills made 100pc payment to sugarcane farmers in the 2025-26 crushing season. Meanwhile, 23 cooperative sugar mills made payments of Rs 2,820 crore.
The three mills of the State Sugar Corporation operating in the state have paid Rs543.51 crore for the 2025-26 crushing season. Private sugar mills have also made 100pc payment to farmers.
It is noteworthy that Uttar Pradesh continues to be the state with the highest sugarcane price payments. The UP government has paid Rs 3.25 lakh crore to sugarcane farmers so far. Uttar Pradesh remains at the top in the country in sugarcane production, molasses production, and ethanol production.
Over 94.86 percent of sugarcane price payments have been completed in the 2025-26 crushing season.
The Sugar Industry and Sugarcane Development Department has set new benchmarks in farmer welfare, sugar production, and ethanol. Due to the policies of the UP government, the state remains at the top in the country in sugarcane production, molasses production, and ethanol production.
The government not only prioritized ensuring fair prices for sugarcane farmers but also took a historic step by transferring a record Rs 3.25 lakh crore in sugarcane payment directly into farmers' accounts.
In the current crushing season, more than 94.86 percent of sugarcane payment has been completed, with 102 sugar mills in the state making 100pc payments.
As a result of these efforts, the average income of sugarcane farmers in the state has increased significantly by Rs 40,720 per hectare.
The Sugarcane Development Department reported that in the last nine years, the state's sugar mills have crushed a record 9,220 lakh tons of sugarcane.
This is 3052 lakh tons more than the total sugarcane crushing of 6168 lakh tons in the previous nine years. A record production of 879.06 lakh tonnes of sugar has been achieved in 9 years.
In the 2025-26 crushing season, cooperative sugar mills in Uttar Pradesh have made 100pc payment of sugarcane price. A total of 23 cooperative sugar mills, including Anupshahr, Badaun, Baghpat, Belrayan, Bilaspur, Bisalpur, Gajraula, Ghosi, Kaimganj, Mahmudabad, Morna, Nanpara, Nanauta, Puranpur, Puwaiyan, Ramala, Saharanpur, Sarsawan, Sathiyawan, Semikheda, Sneh Road, Sultanpur, and Tilhar, have paid Rs 2,820.89 crore to farmers.
The crushing capacity of these 23 cooperative sugar mills is 65,375 TCD.
Private sugar mills have made 100pc payments to farmers in the 2025-26 crushing season. Mills in the Lucknow division made the highest payment of Rs 6,462.19 crore. Mills in the Moradabad division paid Rs 6,398.36 crore, while mills in the Saharanpur division paid Rs 4,799.25 crore. UNI MBD SAS

Panchkula, Sep 16 (UNI) Panchkula Police reunited a two-year-old child with his family within hours after he was found wandering alone in the Sector 21 market area, a police spokesperson said on Wednesday.
The child, a resident of Maheshpur village, had apparently wandered away from his family and reached the market. Local residents spotted him alone and alerted the police.
