More than 65 lakh inheritance mutations recorded online in UP

Lucknow, Oct 19 (UNI) The Yogi Adityanath government has taken significant steps to modernise the Revenue Department's functioning in Uttar Pradesh and make land-related records more transparent. Digitisation of 100 per cent of available land maps and detailed land maps is complete, while 98 per cent of land maps have been linked to Khatauni records.
The process of recording the names of legal heirs in revenue records after a landowner's death has also moved online. According to the Revenue Department, more than 65 lakh inheritance mutations have been registered online so far. Earlier, this process was offline, and people complained that it took a long, uncertain time.
Before 2017, under the SP government, Khatauni was prepared according to a six-year roster, whereas a real-time Khatauni system is now operational across the state. Work on this system has been completed to the extent of 99.86 per cent. Significant progress has also been recorded in areas such as online inheritance mutations, digital land maps and share determination.
