Faridabad police arrest two in separate cases involving fake bank guarantee, 938 kg firecrackers

Faridabad, Oct 18 (UNI) Faridabad Police have arrested two men in separate cases involving an allegedly forged bank guarantee of Rs 40 lakh submitted to a Mumbai-based finance company and the seizure of nearly 938 kg of prohibited firecrackers, officials said on Sunday.
In the financial fraud case, Sector 31 police arrested Raunak Rathore (40), a resident of Springfield Colony and operator of Quantum Resource Consultants, for allegedly submitting a forged bank guarantee purportedly issued by South Indian Bank as security under an agreement with a Mumbai-based finance company.
Police said the bank found the guarantee to be forged and unauthenticated during verification. According to the complaint, Rathore owed the company Rs 4,35,39,920. Police did not specify whether the entire outstanding amount was allegedly obtained through fraud.
A case was registered at Sector 31 police station. Rathore was remanded in police custody for one day before being sent to Neemka Jail under judicial custody.
In the second case, the Central Crime Branch arrested Sandeep, a resident of Bamni Khera village in Palwal district, after intercepting a pickup vehicle allegedly carrying prohibited firecrackers near Atali village on the KGP Expressway.
Acting on specific information, a police team reached an area behind Shiva Tourist Dhaba, where the accused was reportedly waiting with the vehicle.
A search led to the recovery of 34 cardboard cartons containing rockets, explosive crackers, large fountain fireworks and aerial fireworks, weighing a total of 937.930 kg, police said.
The accused allegedly failed to produce a valid licence or permit for possessing, transporting or selling the consignment. Police seized the firecrackers and registered a case under the relevant legal provisions.
Further investigation is underway to establish the source and intended destination of the consignment, officials said.UNI KK AAB
