Six arrested for assaulting hotel worker in Gurugram; two cars, three sticks seized

Panchkula, Sep 21(UNI) Haryana Police have arrested six men for allegedly assaulting a hotel worker with sticks following a dispute over payment for food in Gurugram, a police spokesman said here on Monday.
The spokesman said the incident took place at around 9 p.m. on September 16 when the complainant, who works as a helper at a hotel, allegedly got into an argument with a customer who had come to collect food. The customer allegedly called his associates, who attacked the complainant and his companion with sticks, leaving the complainant seriously injured.
A case was subsequently registered at Palam Vihar police station under the relevant provisions of law, the spokesman said. During the investigation, a Palam Vihar police team arrested the six accused from the police station area on September 20.

They were identified as Sanjay (27), Yogesh (30), Amit Kumar (30), Rohit (26), Puneet (30) and Amardeep (28).

Haryana Police said preliminary questioning indicated that the assault was triggered by a dispute over pending payment for food.
Police recovered a Scorpio and an Aura car, allegedly used in the crime, along with three sticks from the accused, the spokesman said. Further investigation is underway.
