Haryana Police arrests man for alleged sexual misconduct with 17-yr-old stepdaughter

Panchkula, Sept 26 (UNI) Haryana Police have arrested a 38-year-old man from West Bengal for allegedly sexually harassing his 17-year-old stepdaughter in Gurugram, a police spokesman said on Saturday.
The case was registered at Sector 29 police station, Gurugram, after the girl's mother lodged a written complaint at the Chakkarpur police post on September 22, alleging that her second husband had behaved indecently with her minor daughter, the spokesman said.
Acting on the complaint, police registered a case under the relevant provisions of law and launched an investigation.
A team from the Chakkarpur police post subsequently traced the accused to West Bengal and arrested him there on September 25.
Police said the 38-year-old accused is a resident of Malda district in West Bengal. His identity has not been disclosed to protect the identity of the minor survivor.
The accused will be produced before a court for further proceedings, the Haryana Police spokesman said, adding that investigation in the case is continuing.
