Three juveniles produced before Juvenile Justice Board in separate assault, motorcycle theft cases in Panipat

Panipat, Oct 18 (UNI) Three children in conflict with the law were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board in Panipat on Saturday, in two separate cases involving an alleged attempt to murder a student and the theft of a motorcycle, police said on Sunday.
In the first case, Bapoli police apprehended a juvenile allegedly involved in an August 27 assault on Vishal, a resident of Khojkipur Khurd village.
According to the complaint, Vishal was intercepted by a group of youths in Khojkipur Kalan village and allegedly attacked with a sharp-edged weapon and sticks.
The complainant alleged that Pritam, also known as Badha, struck him on the head with a sharp-edged weapon, while others assaulted him with sticks in an attempt to kill him.
Police said two accused, Pritam and Pankaj, had previously been arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
The apprehended juvenile was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, which ordered his placement in an observation home at Madhuban.
In a separate motorcycle theft case, City Police obtained production warrants for two juveniles already lodged in an observation home and questioned them in connection with an August 22 theft.
City Police Station SHO Sub-Inspector Katar Singh said the two juveniles allegedly admitted during questioning that they had stolen a motorcycle parked in a lane adjoining Quality Confectionery on Gohana Road.
Police said the stolen motorcycle had earlier been recovered from Dev Singh, a resident of Khatima in Uttarakhand's Udham Singh Nagar district. He was arrested, produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
The case was registered on the complaint of Anil Kumar, a petrol pump employee, who reported that his motorcycle had been stolen while he was at the confectionery shop for work.
The two juveniles were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board on Saturday and sent to an observation home, police said.
The allegations against the juveniles remain subject to proceedings under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
