Illegal firecrackers seized from shop in densely populated Bahadurgarh locality; two booked

Bahadurgarh, Oct 18 (UNI) Police seized a large quantity of illegally stored firecrackers from a shop in a densely populated area of Bahadurgarh and registered a case against two persons under the Explosives Act after they failed to produce valid licences or permits, officials said on Sunday.
The raid was conducted at a shop on Nala Road in Sakhol in the presence of Duty Magistrate and Naib Tehsildar Praveen, along with a fire department official.
Sector 6 Police Station SHO Sub-Inspector Satyabir said the action followed specific information received by a police team patrolling near Hoshiar Singh Metro Station about the alleged illegal storage and sale of firecrackers.
During the search, police recovered various types of crackers, explosive fireworks and other pyrotechnic material kept for sale.
The two persons identified in the case are Prince and Pritam, both residents of Bahadurgarh.
Police said neither could produce a valid licence or permit for possessing or selling the seized material.
The shop was located in a densely populated locality surrounded by residential houses and commercial establishments, raising concerns over the risk of fire or explosion and potential loss of life and property.
The seized firecrackers were packed, sealed and taken into police custody. A case has been registered at Sector 6 police station under the relevant provisions of the Explosives Act, and further investigation is underway.
Police warned that unauthorised storage and sale of firecrackers would invite legal action.
