Hisar Police arrest proclaimed offender absconding since 2015

Panchkula, Sep 27 (UNI) Hisar Police have arrested a proclaimed offender (PO), carrying a reward of Rs 2,000, from Tawru in Nuh district, nearly 11 years after he was declared a proclaimed offender, a police official said on Sunday.
The accused, identified as Abdul Majid, a resident of Sunari village in Nuh district, was wanted in connection with a 2013 accident case registered at Sadar police station in Hisar. He was declared a proclaimed offender in 2015, the official said.
Majid had allegedly been changing his location frequently to evade arrest. The Hisar Police PO Staff, with the assistance of the cyber cell, tracked him using technical inputs, local intelligence and surveillance before arresting him from the Tawru area.
The official said police were using technical resources as well as local intelligence to trace proclaimed offenders and bring them to justice.
