Tribute to the Kargil War Heroes: IAF’s historic Kanyakumari to Kargil cycling expedition reach Jammu

Jammu, Sep 27 (UNI) The Indian Air Force is undertaking a historic cycling expedition from Kanyakumari to Kargil, in three phases as part of the 94th Anniversary of the Indian Air Force and in tribute to the gallant heroes of the Kargil War.
The third and concluding phase, from the National War Memorial, New Delhi, to the Kargil War Memorial, is presently underway and the expedition is on its sixth day, with the contingent having reached Jammu.
Lt Col Suneel Bartwal, PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Jammu here today said that the riders commenced their day’s journey from Pathankot for Jammu before proceeding towards Kargil.
Despite the en-route challenges, the team continues its determined advance, embodying the values of courage, sacrifice and service, he said.
The expedition commemorates the bravehearts of the Kargil War, whose valour and supreme sacrifice safeguarded the nation’s sovereignty, he stated.
He said that the riders carry forward their enduring legacy of service, courage and sacrifice as they proceed towards the Kargil War Memorial.
