Rajasthan: 72.09 pc polling held in first phase of municipal elections

Jaipur, Sep 9 (UNI) An estimated 72.09 percent of the 5.75 million electorate exercised their franchise in the first phase of the Rajasthan civic body elections today.
Voters locked into EVMs the fate of 20,623 contestants in the 162 civic bodies for which polls were held Wednesday in the first phase.
The polling began at 7 am at 7,683 booths in 5,393 wards of 162 civic bodies, including four municipal corporations - Bhilwara, Bikaner, Bharatpur and Alwar.
