SP Shimla files defamation suit against BJP MLA

Shimla, May 24 (UNI) Superintendent of Police, Shimla, Sanjeev Gandhi has approached the Himachal Pradesh High Court seeking action against BJP MLA Sudhir Sharma for allegedly circulating a video clipping of court proceedings held on May 21.
Gandhi termed the circulation of the video as a conspiracy intended to tarnish his image of honesty and integrity. He claimed that the video, which showed him speaking in the court of Justice Ajay Mohan Goel, was deliberately shared to portray him negatively.
“We are investigating a criminal case against Sudhir Sharma and others for indulging in horse-trading. It appears that feeling the heat of the investigation, Sharma chose to demonize my public image by circulating a court video without seeking prior permission from the court. I have filed a case against Sharma before the High Court for his attempt to malign me,” he said.
