MP govt to provide Rs 5 lakh for theatre productions based on lives of brave women

Gwalior, June 19 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said his government will provide Rs 5 lakh for theatre productions based on the lives of brave women, including Rani Lakshmibai, to promote their stories and legacy.
Yadav made the announcement while participating in the Veerangana Lakshmibai Balidan Mela held in Gwalior on Wednesday night. He said that the Balidan Mela, which has been organised for the past 26 years to commemorate the sacrifice of Rani Lakshmibai, is a meaningful effort to spread her story and legacy to every corner of society.
The Chief Minister promised full support from the government for the organisation of the Balidan Mela. He also announced that the government would provide Rs 5 lakh for theatre productions based on the lives of brave women.
Yadav further announced that a cabinet meeting would be held in Gwalior in honour of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's birth centenary year.
During the Balidan Mela, the Chief Minister honoured the descendants of Mangal Pandey's associate Durg Singh, the wife of Shaurya Chakra recipient Shaheed Vivek Singh Tomar, and national cricketer Vaishnav Sharma.
The Balidan Mela was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Mahant Ramdas Maharaj Dandaroa Sarkar, State Culture Minister Dharmendra Lodhi, Balidan Mela founder Jaybhan Singh Pawaya, State Horticulture Minister Narayan Singh Kushwah, Energy Minister Pradyumn Singh Tomar, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Krishna Gaur, and local MP Bharat Singh Kushwah.
The Chief Minister said that the Madhya Pradesh government is committed to honouring brave women and their legacy. He praised Rani Lakshmibai for her sacrifices and said that her bravery is an inspiration to all.
