Bhopal, May 27 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually launch Super Priority Corridor of Indore Metro from Bhopal on May 31.
The approximately six-kilometer stretch is part of the Yellow Line's Super Priority Corridor, featuring five stations: Gandhi Nagar Station, Super Corridor 6 Station, Super Corridor 5 Station, Super Corridor 4 Station, and Super Corridor 3 Station. The Yellow Line will have 28 stations.
The Indore Metro project spans 31.32 kilometers, with 22.62 kilometers elevated and 8.7 kilometers underground. The entire project costs approximately ₹7,500 crore, with the initial six-kilometer corridor costing around ₹1,520 crore.
The Indore Metro has several notable features, including air-conditioned, pollution-free, and modern coaches with a passenger capacity of around 980. All stations will have lifts and escalators, Braille script, and tactile tiles for differently-abled persons.
The metro stations will also have CCTV cameras, firefighting equipment, emergency buttons, and intercom for passenger safety. Additionally, there will be audio announcements for visually impaired passengers, wheelchairs, seating arrangements, toilets, and drinking water facilities.
