Three children die in separate incidents of drowning in MP’s Sagar

Sagar, June 6 (UNI) Two children drowned in a pond in a village in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh, while in a separate case, a 10-year-old child fell into a well and drowned in another village, police said on Friday.

Police sources said two cousins, Ravindra Ahirwar (7) from Maddevara village in Chhatarpur district and Pankaj Ahirwar (10) from Budhera village in Tikamgarh district, had come to Shyamar Khera to visit their maternal grandparents. They went to a pond in the village to take a bath and drowned in the water.
When the family members did not find the children at home in the evening, they searched for them and found their bodies floating in the water.

The police were immediately informed, and the bodies were recovered from the water and sent for post-mortem at the Shahgarh Community Health Centre.

In a separate incident, a 10-year-old boy, Abhishek alias Yogendra, from Kheri village in Panna district, died after drowning in a well in Kani Khedi village. The boy had come to visit his grandparents.

The police have registered cases and sent the bodies for post-mortem. The incidents are being investigated.
