Modi's vision begins where people's thinking ends: Rajnath Singh

Varanasi, Sep 17 (UNI) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said the motorcycle journey connecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthplace Vadnagar with Kashi, his place of work, was more than a journey between two places and symbolised a connection between two significant chapters of his life.
“The Prime Minister's journey is a journey of twenty-five years of history,” Singh said.
Addressing an event here, he said Kashi is the place where Modi's public life received new energy and the blessings of the Ganga, while Vadnagar was where he received the blessings of his mother Hiraben and imbibed the values that shaped his life.
Singh said, "On one side is Kashi, where Modi's public life received new energy and the blessings of Mother Ganga. On the other side is Vadnagar, where he received the blessings of revered Mother Hiraben and the foundation of values. It is my experience that where people's thinking ends, Modi's vision begins."
Recalling the devastating earthquake that struck Gujarat in 2001, Singh said Modi took charge as Chief Minister at a difficult time when many believed the state would not be able to recover from the crisis.
He said Modi subsequently transformed Gujarat's development trajectory from a “Test Match” to an ODI and accelerated the state's progress, eventually making Gujarat a model of development.
"A good leader builds better roads, improved infrastructure, and bridges, but a great leader is one who empowers people to become self-reliant. This is Prime Minister Modi's endeavor,” he said, citing the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and Skill India as examples of initiatives aimed at promoting self-employment and linking skills with employment opportunities.
Singh said it was once difficult to imagine banking facilities reaching every citizen, but claimed that the Modi government had made this possible.
“Life should not only be long, but also great. On Prime Minister Modi's birthday, we all wish him a long life,” Singh said.
“As far as the question of greatness in life is concerned, the Prime Minister's personality, leadership, and actions have achieved this,” he added.
