BJP reappoints Dharampal Singh as UP organisation general secretary

Lucknow, Sep 24 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has reappointed Dharampal Singh as the State General Secretary (Organisation) of Uttar Pradesh, retaining him in the key organisational post.
Dharampal Singh has been serving as the Organisation General Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh BJP since 2022. Originally from Bijnor district, he entered politics in 1986 after completing his mechanical engineering studies.
He joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in 1986 and became a full-time worker in 1990. He was initially assigned responsibilities as Organisation Minister for Western Uttar Pradesh and later served as a National Minister.
Dharampal has been a full-time member of the Vidyarthi Parishad since 1990. He has also served as Joint Regional Organisation Minister for Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, as well as Organisation Minister for Uttarakhand, Western Uttar Pradesh, Braj and Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
He worked with the BJP on behalf of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) during the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. In July 2017, he was appointed the BJP’s Organisation General Secretary in Jharkhand.
During this period, the BJP won municipal corporations and district councils for the first time. He strengthened the organization in Jharkhand for five years.

Two children among six killed, over 20 injured, as tractor-trolley overturns in Haryana's Kurukshetra

Panchkula, Sep 24 (UNI) Six pilgrims, including two children and four women, were killed and more than 20 others injured after a tractor-trolley carrying around 30 people overturned near Pindarsi village in Haryana's Kurukshetra district on Thursday, officials said.
The pilgrims were travelling to Bagad Dham in Rajasthan when the accident occurred near Pindarsi.
