'MLC results a mandate against the BJP's policies related to education and teachers': Akhikesh Yadav

Lucknow, Oct 29 (UNI) Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the BJP's defeat in the Legislative Council elections in Varanasi.
In a post on his social media account on Thursday, Yadav called the BJP a "flop show."
He said that the MLC election results have set the stage for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections to be held in 2027.
Yadav termed the MLC results as a mandate against the BJP's policies related to education and teachers.
Referring to the vote counting in Varanasi, Akhilesh Yadav said that the BJP lost first in the counting and then in the recount.
He called it a "double defeat for the double engine."
He said that the educated, unemployed graduates and young people worried about their futures had also given their verdict in the election.
In his post, the SP chief claimed that the BJP's policies are causing suffering, distress, and humiliation for people from various communities.
This is uniting the oppressed classes, and the PDA's support base has reached 95 percent.
By PDA, the SP refers to the backward, Dalit, and minority communities.
Yadav also mentioned alleged factionalism within the BJP.
He alleged that the party is facing growing internal divisions and is struggling to find candidates to contest the assembly elections.
He quipped that the BJP previously conducted candidate surveys, but now is using binoculars to find candidates.
Akhilesh Yadav congratulated the SP candidates who won the election, and also those whom he described as having lost "due to alleged manipulation and rigging".
He claimed that all SP candidates were winners for him, even if they had not received their certificates.
The SP chief expressed gratitude to teachers and youth, saying that voters not only voted for the party but also monitored the vote count and remained steadfast until the certificates were received.
He described this unity as a crucial foundation for the formation of a SP government in the 2027 assembly elections.
