UP CM Yogi tops national survey, ranks 1st in Best Chief Minister category

Lucknow, Nov 1 (UNI) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has brought pride to Uttar Pradesh by securing the top position nationwide in the joint ‘Best Chief Minister Survey 2026’ conducted by Fame India Magazine and Asia Post.
He received the highest score of 897 out of 1,000. The survey assessed Chief Ministers on various aspects, including leadership, administrative capabilities, working style, public acceptance and governance.
A total of 15 Chief Ministers were included in the survey. The top ten were recognised in the ‘Best Chief Minister’ category, while those ranked 11th to 15th were placed in the special ‘Chief Minister Pancharatna’ category.
Fame India Magazine’s ‘Best Chief Minister Survey 2026’, conducted in collaboration with Asia Post, continued for approximately three to four months. A three-tier survey process was adopted to understand public perception of the Chief Ministers, the views of the informed sections of society and the experiences of ordinary citizens.
In the first phase, responses, discussions, news reports and public perceptions concerning the Chief Ministers were studied across various social media and traditional media platforms. The second phase incorporated the opinions and assessments of distinguished personalities, intellectuals and eminent individuals from different fields. In the third phase, direct interactions were held with ordinary citizens to understand their views, experiences and perspectives.
After analysing the information and responses gathered through all three phases, the Chief Ministers were evaluated against ten predetermined parameters. The scores obtained across all parameters were combined to prepare the final rankings on a scale of 1,000 points.
Ten key parameters were identified to assess the performance and leadership capabilities of the Chief Ministers. These included good governance, law and order, personality, image, efficiency, influence, understanding of departments, popularity, vision, and working style and results. Under good governance, the survey assessed transparency, accountability and the quality of public service delivery. The law and order parameter focused on citizen safety, crime control and the rule of law.
Personality and image were assessed on the basis of leadership abilities, communication skills, decision-making capabilities and credibility among the public. Other factors considered included administrative efficiency, the impact of policies, understanding of departmental functioning, public support, future planning and tangible results achieved through governance.
In the survey, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami secured the second position with 881 points, while Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma ranked third with 874 points.
