RSS steps up coordination with BJP ahead of UP Assembly polls

Lucknow, Sep 18 (UNI) To give a boost to the BJP’s election campaign in Uttar Pradesh, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has stepped up coordination efforts, holding meetings with BJP leaders and government representatives at the divisional level.

Besides corruption, the meetings also focused on the lack of coordination between the government and the organisation, concerns among Gen Z, unemployment, inflation, and booth-level activities.

Recently, a coordination meeting of the BJP and the Sangh was held for the Awadh and Kanpur division, in which discussions on ground feedback and challenges were held.

In the feedback, the Sar Sahakaryavah of the Sangh, Arun Kumar, and the National General Secretary (Organization) of the BJP, BL Santhosh, advised the officials not to get trapped in the agenda of the opposition. They said that instead, they should respond to it in a precise and factual manner.

During the meetings, ground-level workers flagged issues such as UGC-related concerns, paper leaks, education, unemployment, inflation and youth-related issues, including those concerning Gen Z. They also raised concerns over grassroots-level corruption and problems faced by party workers, terming these issues a major challenge for the BJP in the elections.

Sources said that in the meeting, BL Santhosh and Sangh's Co-Sarkaryavah Arun Kumar told the officials that instead of getting entangled in the narrative of the opposition, the organization should focus on its issues and goals. They said that the opposition will remain aggressive on its issues, but the people of the organization will have to avoid getting trapped in its narrative. Emphasis will be on reaching out to the public with its election issues.

In the meeting, the ground-level workers informed that questions related to UGC, paper leak, education, and employment are in discussion among the youth. The opposition is continuously targeting the government on these issues. The demonstrations that took place in the state recently on these issues were also mentioned in the meeting. Along with this, complaints of corruption at the lower level and the lack of timely hearing on them were also described as a serious issue.

After receiving feedback, the leaders clarified the situation and gave a clear message regarding the elections. They said that the opposition will spread confusion. ''They don't have any specific issues, but the problem is that our people are also getting caught up in that narrative. Even the youth in our own homes are getting confused. First, we need to understand the situation at home and clarify the situation for our people. The government is doing its work on issues like UGC and paper leaks. If a paper is leaked, strict laws are enacted, and action is taken,'' the leaders said.

" We must reach out to the public about the public welfare work done by the central and state governments. We must also present to the public what the government is currently doing. The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is currently underway for a month. We must reach out to every person through this campaign. We must encourage as many people as possible to join this campaign," they told the workers.

At the meeting, many people provided feedback that there was widespread dissatisfaction with the lack of a hearing for their organization's workers under their own government. Meanwhile, the public is troubled by corruption at the grassroots level. Even when complaints are made to officials, they often ignore them. Officials also expressed concern that caste politics is creating confusion among the general public and youth.

The meeting also discussed the need for the government, the BJP, and the Sangh to work together at the grassroots level. Together, they will reach out to every segment of society. Issues of law and order and development must be brought to the people. They will also need to work together to strengthen the organization at the booth level and connect with the common people, the leaders stated.
