Students join Saints in Ayodhya as UP Marks Valmiki Jayanti across 75 Districts

Lucknow, Oct 26 (UNI) Students joined saints at Ayodhya's Shrimad Valmiki Ramayana Bhawan on Monday as Uttar Pradesh marked Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti through recitals, local performances and community gatherings across all 75 districts.
The celebrations brought different expressions of the Ramayana tradition into focus, from worship at the sage's literary memorial in Ayodhya to devotional performances at his Lalapur taposthali in Chitrakoot and a procession through Aligarh.
In Ayodhya, the programme organised by the Culture Department and district administration began at 8 am with worship of Maharishi Valmiki, followed by a recital of Sundarkand from the Valmiki Ramayana. Saints and students participated in the rituals amid Vedic chants.
