Rajiv Krishna appointed as new DGP of UP

Lucknow, May 31 (UNI) A 1991 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Rajiv Krishna has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Uttar Pradesh in place of Prashant Kumar, whose extension ended on Saturday, official sources said here.
Krishna was till now holding the charge of DG Vigilance along with UP Recruitment and Promotion Board. An order to this effect has been issued by the state government.
Krishna's appointment put an end to the speculations that Prashant Kumar may get another extension. Krishna has held key posts in the UP police, including Senior Superintendent of Lucknow. He is also credited with conducting police recruitment successfully.
