Chhattisgarh Cabinet approves Rs 500 crore youth mission, new export policy and age limit for govt jobs

Raipur, Sep 9 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh government on Wednesday approved a package of decisions aimed at expanding opportunities for young people, opening more doors for exporters and easing some of the rules governing government recruitment. The decisions were taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhawan).
The key feature of the package is the Chief Minister’s Startup and National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN) Mission, for which the government has earmarked Rs 500 crore over five years. The programme will cover all 33 districts, with Entrepreneurship Development Centres planned in each one. The state also intends to establish 100 Emerging Technology Labs and five Industry Excellence Centres.
A separate NIPUN JOB Engine will focus on training linked to what employers actually need, with the stated objective of improving access to formal jobs. The broader idea is to give young people a route into entrepreneurship as well as employment, and to build a stronger base for startups and technology-led businesses in the state.
